Nearpod

Another presentation application but it also offers an assessment tool.  Nearpod has the functionality to be used through any pc, mac or mobile device.

Nearpod has existing presentations which can be used, some at a cost, or you can create your own.  The learner can access it online or download it to work offline.

The applications allows you to embed videos, music, photos and more to make the presentation interesting and keep the learners interest.

You can set up slideshows, videos, quizzes and also monitor learner responses to the questions, both as individuals and the group as a whole.  This was demonstrated during the ICT class and proved to be a useful application.

The ability to monitor progress and answers is excellent as it will allow me to measure the individual and group comprehension of the lesson.  What is also excellent is that feedback can be provided very quickly and learners needing help can be identified.

For my own use, I can only see me using Nearpod depending on the time it will take to create a Nearpod presentation versus a PowerPoint and the learning benefit.
